USA Today and other news sources are reporting that United Airline’s recent attempt to raise fares by $10 roundtrip has failed. United’s spokesperson Charles Hobart said that the airline has rolled back its increase but did not give a reason for the recant.
When the airline tried for the increase last week experts cited increased fuel costs due to the Egypt crisis as one reason for the bid. No other airline came forward to match the increase, the eighth attempt and only the second successful attempt this year.
